→ If Tuesday is a national holiday, the castle closes the following day instead

Getting There:
Take the Kyoto City Subway Tozai Line to Nijo-jo-mae Station—just a 1-minute walk from Exit 1. Alternatively, hop on Kyoto City Bus numbers 9 or 50 to the Nijo-jo-mae bus stop. From Kyoto Station, the journey takes approximately 15 minutes by subway or 20 minutes by bus.
Important tip: Arrive early, especially during cherry blossom season (late March to early April) when the castle can reach maximum capacity and temporarily stop admitting visitors!
